Platinum and Palladium Day, to be
afternoon event held on 16th May 2008, will allow industry insiders to explain the production and exploration scene to the European financial community, providing potential investors with a political, geological and corporate context for investment.
Rather than rising, as previously predicted, platinum supply fell in 2007 for the first time in eight years. The shortfall comes at a time of record demand, and the disparity is contributing to a soaring price. The metal has now breached US$1,500/oz, having averaged over US$1,200/oz last year, compared with US$1,143/oz in 2006 and only US$545/oz in 2000.
In its annual statement on the sector, Johnson Matthey concluded that precious-metals prices looked likely to be supported during the next six months ("as long as there is no marked deterioration in the global economy") as the fundamentals "are stronger than expected".
The PLATINUM AND PALLADIUM 20:20 Investor Series event will provide our investor audience with access to some of the hottest information around. It is free to attend, is tightly defined, and puts both commodities in the spotlight.
The Programme includes coffee breaks, so it’s also the perfect opportunity to network with senior company executives, industry experts, shareholders and potential investors.
